This living room home tour is LONG overdue! While it’s been complete, design-wise within six months of moving in, it sure has been a hard room to photograph. Our apartment is small so it was rather challenging to get a good shot of the entire space. At least that was the case before I got a new camera lens. A 50mm is basically life changing in the blogging world. After I got the lens and was ready to photograph the space, as luck would have it, our sofa broke. Which caused another 3-4 month delay. Now the day has finally come that I’m ready and truly tickled with excitement to finally be sharing my living room home tour with you all.
By now you’ve probably seen my emerald loveseat grace the pages of both A Married Adventure and my Instagram. I am OBSESSED with it to say the least. When we first moved in I wasn’t sure if there was going to be enough room for it. You can imagine how elated I was when it fit and didn’t feel the least bit crammed. The loveseat also complemented our new turkish rug we had purchased for the living room space. When we bought the turkish rug I thought we were going to have to do everything else in the space in neutrals because there is just SO MUCH color in the rug. Turns out, if you pick the right colors out of the rug then you can make a lot of different color palettes work with it.
Look at that big leafy green fiddle leaf tree! She’s almost 1-year old and is currently about to sprout 4 new leaves. I didn’t have high hopes for keeping her alive when we brought her home last January, but I’m pleasantly surprised with how well she is doing #plantparent. If she keeps growing, I’m going to have to do some serious pruning because our apartment can only handle a plant getting so big. If you’re looking on tips on how to grow and care for a fiddle leaf, be sure to stop by my post how to care for your fiddle leaf fig tree.
Some of my favorite details in our styling accessories are my wedding shoes that I decided to display on the bottom of the end table. They put a smile on my face whenever I look at them. Just above that shelf are a few coffee tables books with our wedding album sitting at the top. On the opposite end table there is a Vogue book that belonged to my late mother-in-law that I now love having on display. I know she’d love that I displayed it and be touched that I put here on my blog. Above that there is a pink Oscar de la Renta book that I received as a thank you gift from an event I helped produce for the Oscar de la Renta: The Retrospective | de Young.
If you’re in the market for a new sofa that you can customize while also being affordable then I highly recommend Interior Define. First off, their customer service is beyond amazing!! Our first sofa we purchased had issues within weeks of arriving, along with the fabric piling and it drove me crazy. After trying to make due with the issues, I emailed Interior Define to ask if there was something that we’d be able to do about it and they said, “of course!”
After sitting on what I wanted to do for a month or two. The fateful day came where two of the legs just snapped off the sofa. It’s safe to say I was livid! How does that happen??
I called Interior Define and they were so gracious and said we could make a new sofa and they’d pick up the broken one. Because of my down allergy they had to custom make the filling so it took a little longer to receive but I am so happy with our new sofa. We now have the Sloan sofa and love it! The original sofa we had was the Rose, while I LOVED the design of it, it actually wasn’t that comfortable. The arms were just way too low to offer any support. The wheels on the front legs on our hardwood floors are actually what caused the legs to break off.
If you are on the hunt for a coffee table with storage then I would highly suggest this West Elm Industrial Storage Coffee Table . This table was a game changer in finding additional storage in our rather small apartment. It also opens up to where you can use it as a TV tray. It’s like a two for one, haha! I also love the the wood color and metal legs, it really works for numerous design aesthetics.
How cute and cozy is this classic Serena & Lily Brahms Mount Herringbone Throw?! I have a special blog post coming where I talk all about this cozy throw so be on the look out in the next week or so for that post.
Did you all spot the unfluffed pillow I missed and the flying frenchie in this living room home tour? If you missed it you should go back and try to find them, I think they are pretty funny. Lily is actually the one who trampled across the pillows to unfluff them. She wasn’t grasping the concept that she couldn’t go on the sofas.
I’ve done my best to include links to everything below. Unfortunately I don’t have a link to our turkish rug because it came from a store in Santa Barbara (that doesn’t have a website) and some of the small accessories are Home Goods finds.
