If you’ve stuck with me for the first three (one, two, three) wedding posts, thank you and bless you for staying with me!! I’m excited to share the party portion, aka our wedding reception with you today. Figuring out all the details for our reception was one of my favorite parts of wedding planning. Definitely stressful (hello, seating charts, I’m talking to you) but worth it to see my vision come together. We were lucky that the view of our reception was really the show stopper! Even though the view was great, I couldn’t let that stop me from putting my own touch on the room.
A lot of the details that you see here were DIY projects crafted by me and my parents. From the ribbon wall and marquee letters to the table number signs and more. We spent many weekends crafting to make sure my vision came to life. If you want to know the best way to make a ribbon wall, message me and I’ll give you all the details. My mom and I made the one in these pictures in less than 30-minutes. The marquee letters on the other hand, not so easy. You can now rent marquee letters, so save yourself the trouble and rent them.
Two of my favorite details were the frenchie escort cards and the unique table numbers we chose. We so badly wanted Lily to be a part of our wedding day but the actual logistics of her being there were far too complicated. We still wanted to incorporate her somehow and these escort cards were the perfect way to do so. I also love that our table numbers weren’t the usual 1-10, we chose numbers that had some sort of meaningful significance to us.
We were torn on whether or not to do a sweetheart table or wedding party table. We ultimately opted for the sweetheart table because it was the best configuration for the room. It was also logistically challenging trying to figure out how to fit the entire wedding party plus their plus ones at one table.
I hope you all have enjoyed following along on our wedding day posts as much as I have enjoyed sharing them all with you! If you have any specific questions that I haven’t covered, please feel free to reach out to me directly. I could talk wedding talk for DAYS!
