Our wedding ceremony was such a perfect moment on such a wonderful day. From my dad walking me down the aisle, to my handsome groom waiting at the end of the dock, and to my father-in-law marrying us. We truly could not have asked for more! It was also a gorgeous day to get married on, 80 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. October in the Bay Area is one of the most gorgeous months of the entire year. The indian summer, reflection of the lake, the gondolas and dock. Pair all of these with the trees turning into fall and it made Lake Chalet the perfect backdrop to our union as husband and wife.
There is something so special and sacred about a wedding ceremony. It’s two people becoming husband and wife. It’s two families becoming one. And it’s the warmth and love that can be felt by all that have gathered to celebrate such a special union
One of the best decisions we made about our wedding ceremony was choosing to have my father-in-law marry us. When we got to the stage in the wedding planning process where we needed to pick someone to marry us, we found ourselves a little stumped. We aren’t religious so having a minister marry us didn’t seem right, and having someone that we really didn’t know marry us seemed strange too. Choosing my fathering-in-law was the perfect meaningful touch to our day!
Here are some of my favorite photos from our ceremony!
One of my favorite moments from the wedding was my dad walking me down the aisle to the Kelly Clarkson song, “A Moment Like This.” My dad also did a really good job at making sure my heels didn’t slip into the cracks of the dock. <– I was so worried that would happen and I’d fall on my face, haha!
