A Married Adventure

I have a feeling this is going to be the BEST week ever because I’m headed to the happiest place on earth! Mickey Mouse, I’m coming for you!! It’s a girls trip that is going to be filled with all things Disney (obviously) and then a good ol’ sea breeze with stops to Santa Barbara and Pismo Beach. Girls trips to Disneyland are SO much fun, I definitely recommend them!

I have to admit I am the WORST packer ever! I over pack….every S I N G L E trip, no matter where I’m going. During a normal week, I will literally wear the same outfit multiple times depending on who I’m seeing (never if I’m seeing the same people, duh!). But when I take a trip I almost always end up packing three outfits per day. Does anyone else do that? Tell me I’m not the only one!

Don’t worry, I’ll spare you all the details about my ridiculous amounts of outfits that I’m packing. I will, however, share a few tried and true items that I do always pack with me when I visit the Disneyland Parks.

Disney Ears

No trip to Disneyland is ever complete without a set of ears! My ears are a few years old and part of the Disneyland 60th anniversary collection.

Comfortable Shoes

Now, if you’re like me and you have terribly high arches, then you know that comfortable shoes are an absolute must in Disneyland. I’ve made the mistake and worn cute little sandals that matched with perfection alongside my cute outfit, but did absolutely nothing for my feet. Actually, they did “some”-thing, that “thing” being that my feet were sore for a week afterwards!   BAD idea, BAD! Now that I’m older and wiser I go for a pair of cute YET also comfortable sneakers.

What I'm Packing for Disneyland | AMarriedAdventure.com

Crossbody Bag

Crossbody bags are just the best, aren’t they? It’s like being hands free all the time. I usually prefer a crossbody as opposed to a backpack because I find it much more functional. And, HELLO, obviously for style purposes! I don’t have to stop and take it off to get something out and don’t need to worry about where to stash it on rides. If you have the right size crossbody you can usually leave it on during the rides too, double plus! The particular color of my Coach bag in the picture is no longer available but I have a feeling come summertime they might have something similar.

Phone Charger

Between taking pictures, using the Disney apps, or scrolling through social media while waiting in line for rides, you’ll definitely want to make sure you have something to charge your phone with when your battery runs low.

Sunscreen

This one is an obvious must, right?! HOWEVER, I have forgotten to put sunscreen on before while in Disneyland and will NEVER make that mistake again. It was one of the worst sunburns I’ve ever had. Spray sunscreen is my go-to because I find it easier to apply compared to regular sunscreen. However, I do not use this one on my face, if you need a good facial sunscreen I highly recommend —->> this.

Light Jacket/ Shirt

I love me some layers and Disneyland is the perfect place to load em’ up. I’m always chilly in the mornings but definitely warm up come the afternoons and then chilly again come evening. I like to carry a thin jacket or a button up long sleeve that does the trick of keeping me warm but can also be stuffed in my bag.

Water Bottle

Does anyone else think the price for a water bottle in Disneyland is INSANE?! I think it is, so I bring my own to refill. That has to be at least a $50 dollar savings with how much water I drink. Hydration has never been a problem for me.

Snacks

Snacks are always a must for me. **Read:”I get hangry without food”**

Especially being gluten free, you always have to be prepared with snacks that you know you can eat.

Sunglasses

Just trying to prevent wrinkles from squinting over here, so the bigger the better!

Oil Absorbing Sheets

Because who wants greasy skin in all those pictures you’re going to be taking? I don’t and neither should you!

Hand Sanitizer

Kids + crowds of people + so many surfaces to touch = germ central. I’m kind of crazy when it comes to washing my hands but sometimes you just can’t so hand sanitizer is a must when in a pinch.

Emergen-C

Germs. Late nights. Early mornings. All of these are breeding grounds for catching a cold. I like to take Vitamin C a few days before any trip to Disneyland and while I’m there. It gives my immune system a little extra boost.

There you have it, my must-haves for any trip to Disneyland!

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

**Calling all beauty lovers**

This is your public service announcement for the weekend!!

The bi-annual Sephora VIB sale in ON (well, has been on)! Sephora VIB and VIB Rouge members, you have until the 24th to shop with an extra 15% off, while Sephora Beauty Insiders have until the 23rd to enjoy an extra 10% off. So go shop until your beauty loving hearts are content!

I’m super excited about this Sephora VIB sale because I’ve just started to run out of a few of my staple products. A 15% savings is HUGE for me since most of these goodies are on the pricier end of the products I use. If you’re curious as to what’s in my shopping cart and why I put it there; just scroll below to find out.

Sephora VIB Sale | AMarriedAdventure.com

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Primer

I haven’t tried this primer yet, but I did decide to purchase it and give it a try. A few of the beauty YouTubers that I like use this primer and rave about it. Getting it on sale was the icing on the cake to give me the go ahead to try.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer

I’m about as pasty as they come…really though, I am! The olive gene definitely skipped me over, sigh. BUT this bronzer gives me a nice little glow all year long. I particularly love this bronzer because it doesn’t make me look orange and is the perfect amount of color to fake a sun kissed glow.

Versace Bright Crystal Perfume

I’ve been wearing this perfume for years and it’s one of the few scents that I LOVE. It just works for me! It also doesn’t give me horrible allergies like many other perfumes do, so it’s a win-win.

Boscia MakeUp-BreakUp Cleansing Oil

This face wash is great! It does a great job at removing all my makeup and cleansing my skin paired with my Clarisonic. I have very dry, sensitive, and acne prone skin and this cleanser rocks my world. If my skin happens to be a hot mess with one too many pimples I will use this first and then a salicylic acid face wash on my problem areas.

La Mer Soft Cream

Here’s the skinny on this babe. I tried the original cream and ended up HATING it. It really didn’t do much for my skin except just sit on the top layer. It was also too high maintenance for me to apply. I can honestly say I was very disappointed that I didn’t love it. It’s one of those products that has such rave reviews that I assumed I’d love it too. WRONG, so wrong!

I recently decided to try the soft cream version and really like it. Thanks, Nordstroms for all the samples! After a few weeks of using it, I do really like this cream, but again, SO expensive. The jar has been sitting in both my Nordstroms and Sephora carts for a week while I debated on if I was going to take the plunge. The Sephora VIB sale is what convinced me to take the plunge since I could get 15% off this pricey cream.

Buxom Lip Polish

I love these lips glosses, I have three different colors that I use all the time. They also last quite a while so I call it a win!

Skin, Inc Daily Dose

I’ve talked about these serums on my blog before and I love them! The french bark and ceramides are always my go-to and then I usually mix in a new serum each time I order based on what’s going on with my skin. The french bark is great at keeping my acne under control and the ceramides help soothe my dry and sensitized skin.

Klorane Dry Shampoo

I’ve tried just about every dry shampoo under the sun and I always come back to this one. It works the best for my hair and doesn’t leave a terrible residue like other dry shampoos.

T3 Whirl Trio Interchangleable Styling Wand

For awhile I really just thought this curling wand was the “blogger curling wand” because every major blogger has it and posts about it. I was skeptical but decided I wanted to give it a try and I’m happy to report that I love it. One of the + things about this wand is that it’s super light. The weight of the wand makes it easier on my wrists to curl my hair. I also feel like it holds my curls longer than other wands. One of these days I will do a full review on this and a hair tutorial!

Happy Friday, Friends! How was your week?! Mine was a little bit crazy yet also a little calm with a more than healthy dose of wanderlusting for a new adventure.

I’m heading to Disneyland next week with some friends and I’m SO excited! Even though I’m excited to go to the, “Happiest Place on Earth” I still find myself longing to go somewhere new that I haven’t been before.

I’m chalking it up to the crappy weather that we just can’t seem to shake up here in the Bay Area.

** Your girl cannot deal with anymore rain at this point in the year!**

Dear Mother Nature, we’re good with water, so, please send ample amounts of sunshine!

While I would love to escape this crummy weather and take a tropical vacation to somewhere like Bora Bora, we are saving our pennies to travel to France next year (a trip to Paris happens to be what I would consider my “dream trip”).  I have all the “heart eye” emojis for everything that is Parsian and can’t wait to finally visit this swoon worthy city.  We may not be traveling out of the country this year but there are still plenty of places in the U.S. to see that we haven’t yet.

After picking a few cities that we haven’t been to, we decided to book a trip to Austin, Texas at the end of May.  I’m no stranger to Texas (Ryan went to college there) but I’ve never been to Austin and hear nothing but great things! So, it looks like this girl is going to have to gather up her dusty cowboy boots and get them ready for Austin!

Any-who, if you happen to be in a part of the world that is currently experiencing crummy weather, then these pictures are for you (and of course, my little wanderlusting heart). All of these pictures are places that are currently on my bucket list of places I’m dreaming of visiting one day.

I’m giddy with excitement to share these pictures with all you lovelies! Between the colors, the flowers, and the dishware, I’m so IN LOVE with how this Easter Tablescape turned out. If you asked me to pick my favorite piece from this table I don’t think I could pick just one. All the different elements really pull this Easter table together and make it so swoon worthy.  I seriously can’t stop swooning over it! Out of all the holidays, I’d have to say that Easter is my least favorite, but I do enjoy a springy pastel tablescape, brunch, and all the Easter egg shaped candy. Cadbury Eggs, anyone?!

Besides designing tablescapes, I LOVE arranging flowers…I find it to be therapeutic. I love seeing what I can create with the different flowers and vases that I’ve picked out for each arrangement. If I didn’t have such bad allergies I would seriously consider doing it as a little side job.

I hope you all enjoy reading this post as much as much as I enjoyed creating it because I’m seriously obsessed with how it turned out. I wish I was able to link everything for you all to shop but the dishes are HomeGoods finds and the glasses are vintage finds. I did my best to round up similar items for you to shop below.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and enjoy some flowers and pastel colors of your own. Maybe a little Easter Candy too!

Currently Loving--April Edition | AMarriedAdventure.com

Happy happy Monday! Why do I always say, “Happy Monday?” Is it really that happy?!? I mean, I do enjoy that fresh new week feeling but not as much as I enjoy the weekend! Am I right, or am I right? One of the things I love most about having a blog is being able to share fabulous things with you all. Whether it’s a fabulous tablescape I designed or something on my list of “current loving” items, I love sharing! Maybe it’s because I’ve been shopping both online and in stores a little too much lately, but I’ve found some seriously good finds that I just HAVE to share!

This Months Currently Loving List:

Sperry Boat Shoes

While I can’t even begin to remember the last time I was on a boat, I do LOVE me some boat shoes. I have four pairs and counting… **insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes here**. It may seem like a ridiculous amount of the same-ish shoe but I wear them all the time. No seriously, I do! Besides my favorite gold metallic pair, these barrel fish ones are a favorite of mine. They are super comfortable, durable, and such a cute casual shoe.

Oribe Texturizing Spray

SERIOUSLY….if you buy one hair product it should be this one. It’s LEGIT! While it comes with a much larger price tag than I’d prefer to spend, it’s worth all my hard earned dollars. It adds the perfect amount of texture and volume that I need when my hair is feeling a little too silky and flat.

Eat Pretty Every Day

Truth be told…I bought this book because I thought the cover was cute. They say that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover…but I totally did. The book is broken down so that you read one page a day….it has 365 pages that are broken into seasons. I’ve started reading it each day when I sit down at night to write in my gratitude journal and so far I’ve found myself enjoying this nightly ritual.

Sugarfix by Bauble Bar

These earrings…and all the other pieces in this collection are SO cute. I’ve bought three pairs of earrings already and seriously have to resist buying anymore. Every. single. time. that I go to Target, I swear I repeat to myself, “stay away from the jewelry counter, Amber, STAY A-W-A-Y!” So far, I’m succeeding…but word on the street is they have a new collection coming out soon. So, good luck to myself continuing to resist the jewelry counter.

Kiehls Sensitive Skin Sunscreen

My skin is about as sensitive and acne prone as they come. The biggest culprit? Sunscreen! My solution to this was to stop wearing sunscreen, which obviously was a terrible decision and I now have the dark spots to prove it. So, this sunscreen is made for people with skin like mine. I’ve been using it for almost a year and I love it. With other sunscreens I could put them on and literally have two new pimples or even worse my skin would feel as if it was burning within the hour. This is one of those gems that I really think I could use the rest of my life.

Mossimo Slide Sandals

Do these sandals really need an explantation as to why I’m currently loving them? Nope, I didn’t think so!

Eat Beautiful

Again, I totally bought this book because I thought it was pretty and would look cute in my kitchen. AND it totally does! It also has some great information on ways to take care of yourself through food so I call it a win.

Ginger Jar

Is it just me or do ginger jars seem to be all the rage right now? I feel like I’ve seen them in every design magazine and blog that I’ve been following recently. I’m definetely a huge fan of these blue and white print jars and have a few of them subtly scattered throughout my apartment.

Pineapple BookEnds

It’s no secret, I do not *need* another “pineapple” of anything in my house since I do happen to  have them EVERYWHERE! *Keyword “need”*. But then again, can you ever have too much pineapple anything?! I think not! These bookends are just the absolute cutest!

Gold Pineapple Trays

Yep, I did not need these either…but of course I felt this “need” to buy them because they were pineapples (I can hear Ryan rolling his eyes right now). So yeah, I still don’t know what to do with them, but they sure are cute. Am I right or am I right?!

Palm Print Inflatable Chair

I. Need. This. Chair.

I could use it at the beach, the park, the pool,  or even in my living room…..you know, basically anywhere. If this actually floated in the pool then I would have already purchased it!
