I have a feeling this is going to be the BEST week ever because I’m headed to the happiest place on earth! Mickey Mouse, I’m coming for you!! It’s a girls trip that is going to be filled with all things Disney (obviously) and then a good ol’ sea breeze with stops to Santa Barbara and Pismo Beach. Girls trips to Disneyland are SO much fun, I definitely recommend them!
I have to admit I am the WORST packer ever! I over pack….every S I N G L E trip, no matter where I’m going. During a normal week, I will literally wear the same outfit multiple times depending on who I’m seeing (never if I’m seeing the same people, duh!). But when I take a trip I almost always end up packing three outfits per day. Does anyone else do that? Tell me I’m not the only one!
Don’t worry, I’ll spare you all the details about my ridiculous amounts of outfits that I’m packing. I will, however, share a few tried and true items that I do always pack with me when I visit the Disneyland Parks.
No trip to Disneyland is ever complete without a set of ears! My ears are a few years old and part of the Disneyland 60th anniversary collection.
Now, if you’re like me and you have terribly high arches, then you know that comfortable shoes are an absolute must in Disneyland. I’ve made the mistake and worn cute little sandals that matched with perfection alongside my cute outfit, but did absolutely nothing for my feet. Actually, they did “some”-thing, that “thing” being that my feet were sore for a week afterwards! BAD idea, BAD! Now that I’m
older and wiser I go for a pair of cute YET also comfortable sneakers.
Crossbody bags are just the best, aren’t they? It’s like being hands free all the time. I usually prefer a crossbody as opposed to a backpack because I find it much more functional. And, HELLO, obviously for style purposes! I don’t have to stop and take it off to get something out and don’t need to worry about where to stash it on rides. If you have the right size crossbody you can usually leave it on during the rides too, double plus! The particular color of my Coach bag in the picture is no longer available but I have a feeling come summertime they might have something similar.
Between taking pictures, using the Disney apps, or scrolling through social media while waiting in line for rides, you’ll definitely want to make sure you have something to charge your phone with when your battery runs low.
This one is an obvious must, right?! HOWEVER, I have forgotten to put sunscreen on before while in Disneyland and will NEVER make that mistake again. It was one of the worst sunburns I’ve ever had. Spray sunscreen is my go-to because I find it easier to apply compared to regular sunscreen. However, I do not use this one on my face, if you need a good facial sunscreen I highly recommend —->> this.
I love me some layers and Disneyland is the perfect place to load em’ up. I’m always chilly in the mornings but definitely warm up come the afternoons and then chilly again come evening. I like to carry a thin jacket or a button up long sleeve that does the trick of keeping me warm but can also be stuffed in my bag.
Does anyone else think the price for a water bottle in Disneyland is INSANE?! I think it is, so I bring my own to refill. That has to be at least a $50 dollar savings with how much water I drink. Hydration has never been a problem for me.
Snacks are always a must for me. **Read:”I get hangry without food”**
Especially being gluten free, you always have to be prepared with snacks that you know you can eat.
Just trying to prevent wrinkles from squinting over here, so the bigger the better!
Because who wants greasy skin in all those pictures you’re going to be taking? I don’t and neither should you!
Kids + crowds of people + so many surfaces to touch = germ central. I’m kind of crazy when it comes to washing my hands but sometimes you just can’t so hand sanitizer is a must when in a pinch.
Germs. Late nights. Early mornings. All of these are breeding grounds for catching a cold. I like to take Vitamin C a few days before any trip to Disneyland and while I’m there. It gives my immune system a little extra boost.
There you have it, my must-haves for any trip to Disneyland!
I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Happy Friday, Friends! How was your week?! Mine was a little bit crazy yet also a little calm with a more than healthy dose of wanderlusting for a new adventure.
I’m heading to Disneyland next week with some friends and I’m SO excited! Even though I’m excited to go to the, “Happiest Place on Earth” I still find myself longing to go somewhere new that I haven’t been before.
I’m chalking it up to the crappy weather that we just can’t seem to shake up here in the Bay Area.
** Your girl cannot deal with anymore rain at this point in the year!**
Dear Mother Nature, we’re good with water, so, please send ample amounts of sunshine!
While I would love to escape this crummy weather and take a tropical vacation to somewhere like Bora Bora, we are saving our pennies to travel to France next year (a trip to Paris happens to be what I would consider my “dream trip”). I have all the “heart eye” emojis for everything that is Parsian and can’t wait to finally visit this swoon worthy city. We may not be traveling out of the country this year but there are still plenty of places in the U.S. to see that we haven’t yet.
After picking a few cities that we haven’t been to, we decided to book a trip to Austin, Texas at the end of May. I’m no stranger to Texas (Ryan went to college there) but I’ve never been to Austin and hear nothing but great things! So, it looks like this girl is going to have to gather up her dusty cowboy boots and get them ready for Austin!
Any-who, if you happen to be in a part of the world that is currently experiencing crummy weather, then these pictures are for you (and of course, my little wanderlusting heart). All of these pictures are places that are currently on my bucket list of places I’m dreaming of visiting one day.
Cheers to the weekend and daydreaming of dreamy places!
Happy happy Monday! Why do I always say, “Happy Monday?” Is it really that happy?!? I mean, I do enjoy that fresh new week feeling but not as much as I enjoy the weekend! Am I right, or am I right? One of the things I love most about having a blog is being able to share fabulous things with you all. Whether it’s a fabulous tablescape I designed or something on my list of “current loving” items, I love sharing! Maybe it’s because I’ve been shopping both online and in stores
a little too much lately, but I’ve found some seriously good finds that I just HAVE to share!
While I can’t even begin to remember the last time I was on a boat, I do LOVE me some boat shoes. I have four pairs and counting… **insert monkey emoji covering it’s eyes here**. It may seem like a ridiculous amount of the same-ish shoe but I wear them all the time. No seriously, I do! Besides my favorite gold metallic pair, these barrel fish ones are a favorite of mine. They are super comfortable, durable, and such a cute casual shoe.
SERIOUSLY….if you buy one hair product it should be this one. It’s LEGIT! While it comes with a much larger price tag than I’d prefer to spend, it’s worth all my hard earned dollars. It adds the perfect amount of texture and volume that I need when my hair is feeling a little too silky and flat.
Truth be told…I bought this book because I thought the cover was cute. They say that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover…but I totally did. The book is broken down so that you read one page a day….it has 365 pages that are broken into seasons. I’ve started reading it each day when I sit down at night to write in my gratitude journal and so far I’ve found myself enjoying this nightly ritual.
These earrings…and all the other pieces in this collection are SO cute. I’ve bought three pairs of earrings already and seriously have to resist buying anymore. Every. single. time. that I go to Target, I swear I repeat to myself, “stay away from the jewelry counter, Amber, STAY A-W-A-Y!” So far, I’m succeeding…but word on the street is they have a new collection coming out soon. So, good luck to myself continuing to resist the jewelry counter.
My skin is about as sensitive and acne prone as they come. The biggest culprit? Sunscreen! My solution to this was to stop wearing sunscreen, which obviously was a terrible decision and I now have the dark spots to prove it. So, this sunscreen is made for people with skin like mine. I’ve been using it for almost a year and I love it. With other sunscreens I could put them on and literally have two new pimples or even worse my skin would feel as if it was burning within the hour. This is one of those gems that I really think I could use the rest of my life.
Do these sandals really need an explantation as to why I’m currently loving them? Nope, I didn’t think so!
Again, I totally bought this book because I thought it was pretty and would look cute in my kitchen. AND it totally does! It also has some great information on ways to take care of yourself through food so I call it a win.
Is it just me or do ginger jars seem to be all the rage right now? I feel like I’ve seen them in every design magazine and blog that I’ve been following recently. I’m definetely a huge fan of these blue and white print jars and have a few of them subtly scattered throughout my apartment.
It’s no secret, I do not *need* another “pineapple” of anything in my house since I do happen to have them EVERYWHERE! *Keyword “need”*. But then again, can you ever have too much pineapple anything?! I think not! These bookends are just the absolute cutest!
Yep, I did not need these either…but of course I felt this “need” to buy them because they were pineapples (I can hear Ryan rolling his eyes right now). So yeah, I still don’t know what to do with them, but they sure are cute. Am I right or am I right?!
I. Need. This. Chair.
I could use it at the beach, the park, the pool, or even in my living room…..you know, basically anywhere. If this actually floated in the pool then I would have already purchased it!

What products are you guys loving lately?! I always love knowing what products other people love or swear by, so I’d love to hear yours!
Hope you all have a wonderful week!
Spring has sprung! I must admit that Spring is the least of my favorite seasons, primarily because I have horrible allergies. I spend 3-months being pretty darn miserable. BUT I do love me some Spring cleaning and Springtime flowers! Today I’m sharing some of my favorite Spring cleaning must-dos to whip your home back into shape for the upcoming seasons.
Spring Cleaning Must-Do No.1: READ “THE LIFE-CHANGING MAGIC OF TIDYING UP”
I’ve mentioned this book before…it’s life changing and will completely change your approach when it comes to cleaning and organizing.
Spring Cleaning Must-Do No. 2: PURGE
Go through all your closets…anything that hasn’t been used in the last 6-months, get rid of it (with the exception of clothes that that have been stored for when it’s not their season). It’s time to say, ” bye bye bye” to those pieces of clothing, shoes, or anything else you’ve been hoarding for years. Trust me, you CAN do it! When I clean out my closet I will make separate piles of “donate” and “toss” this makes it easier rather than separating it all at the end. I also try to do this in my kitchen and bathroom cabinets. In my kitchen, if I don’t LOVE it or USE it regularly it gets tossed or donated . There is no sense in keeping something that you don’t love or use. “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” will teach you all about this.
Spring Cleaning Must-Do No. 3: DEEP CLEAN THOSE AREAS YOU NORMALLY AVOID
You know, like all the dust bunnies under your sofa or dresser that you don’t see on a daily basis. The bunnies are there and they are NOT the kind of bunnies we want. For some reason my apartment gets crazy dusty and the hardwood floors show every spec of dust and it always seems to pile up under areas like the sofa and dresser. So give those areas a good clean, your allergies will thank you.
Spring Cleaning Must-Do No. 4: PICK PRODUCTS THAT MAKE CLEANING EASIER
How annoying is it when you take the time to clean and it ends up taking you FOREVER because your products just aren’t doing a good enough job? That is definitely one of my biggest pet peeves about cleaning. With a little bit of trial and error I’ve found a few tried and true products that I just LOVE and that never seem to fail me…..J.R. Watkins All Purpose Cleaner, Scrubbing Bubbles Mega Shower Foamer, and a good ol’ Swifter Duster.
Spring Cleaning Must-Do No. 5: FRESHEN IT UP
Once your home is sparkling clean and meticulously organized give it a little extra fresh feeling with a new scented candle and your favorite spring time flowers.
I don’t know about you guys, but I love that just freshly cleaned and organized feeling. It really motivates me to be productive in other areas of my life when my home is cleaned and everything has a proper spot. Who else is with me on that?! I epically failed at keeping things organized after taking the time to do it during the start of the New Year. This weekend I’m going to whip everything back into shape and TRY to keep it that way.
Anyone have fun plans for the weekend? My weekend is pretty packed with plans and I’m super excited about it. I also plan on starting some Spring cleaning and I can’t wait, haha, how lame am I? It’s going to be a gorgeous weekend in Oakland so a walk around the lake is going to be a must.
Have a great weekend friends and good luck with your Spring cleaning!
Happy Monday, Loves! Who else is LOVING this time change?! Sunday was the most glorious day with all the extra daylight and perfect 75 degree weather. Seriously, the first week of “spring forward” is one of my favorite weeks of the year. It always feels like there are so many fresh possibilities with the extra daylight and warm weather. Today I’m talking about WALLPAPER!!
Wallpaper is and has been making quite the comeback in the design world this last year or two and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. We aren’t just talking about your Grandma’s wallpaper here either! We’re talking bold and modern patterns that can transform a room without it being too costly. It does so much more than just paint does, it adds texture and personality to a space.
During my quest to transform our dining room I thought about using wallpaper. The only problem I had was that it seemed too permanent. What if I hated it? What if I didn’t? What would this mean for my security deposit? Most people who are renting aren’t thinking about wallpapering anything. Of course, I am that anomaly and want to customize everything in a rental.
I tried to get over my wallpaper idea but just couldn’t let it go. I even convinced myself that I’d just hire someone to remove it and fix the wall when we moved out. Ryan quickly talked me out of that idea, haha. But behold, the March Martha Stewart Living Magazine that featured removable wallpaper. Say what now?!? Removable?! As in I could put it up and take it down if I hated it?? And I might get my security deposit back? Could this really be TRUE?! It obviously seemed to good to be true to me.
Why had I not thought about researching removable wallpaper in the first place? But of course, good ol’ Martha came through with a solution I’d been looking for without even realizing I’d been looking for it. Cue Chasing Paper, they have some seriously cute wallpapers that are all completely removable. They even had my dalmatian print wallpaper that I’ve been swooning over for quite some time.
I ordered a few samples to decide between the black and gray speck wallpaper. I’ve always loved black speck wallpaper but kind of loved the gray when I saw it. I also wanted to test how “removable” this product was actually going to be. I left the samples up for two weeks and am happy to report they peeled off my wall with ease and no damage. Is this a dream or what? The perfect solution to a wallpaper obsessed renter.
So which did I pick? I went with the one that has always made me go gaga, the black speck! Thanks to all my wonderful Instagram and SnapChat followers for helping me decide between the gray and the black. You all have amazing taste! Both colors actually got an equal number of votes!
I installed my removable wallpaper last week and completed it in about 2ish hours by myself. My wall is about 6′ wide x 8′ tall so 2 hours doesn’t seem that long at all. The best part about installing the paper is that if you mess up, you can redo it because it’s removable. My biggest piece of adivce if you are going to do this….pick a FORGIVING pattern! I’m terrible about making things straight (you should see my scrapbooks from back in the day, nothing was ever straight). So if you pick something like the speck paper, no one is going to know that it’s a little off. But a stripe, the world won’t stop staring if it’s crooked. Trust me!
I promise a full reveal is coming soon. I just need need to decide on wall decor!
