I am so excited to bring you all my holiday home tour of 2017! This is actually the first holiday home tour that I’ve done on A Married Adventure, making it extra exciting! Trimming the tree, hanging the stockings, and decking the halls with garlands are a few of my favorite holiday things! The glow of the twinkling lights throughout my home makes me giddy like a school girl. There is no time of year that I love staying home as much as I do when the Christmas decor is out.
Look at her, ain’t she a beaut?! I am full steam ahead on the faux Christmas tree train this year! I honestly didn’t realize how little I would miss a real tree. Sure, I miss the smell but I make up for it with my real wreaths and pine scented candles. I talked all about my decision to make the switch in this real vs. faux Christmas trees post.
This year I decorated my tree a little differently from previous years. Normally I’m more of a traditonal red and green Christmas decor kind of gal and I trim the tree with all my ornaments that my mom has collected for me from before I was even born. This year I wanted to shake things up a little. I wanted all our Christmas decor to match our apartment and how it’s currently decorated. The colors in our apartment are ones that I just love and thought it would be fun to carry those colors into Christmas decor. While I had only planned on doing a tree since our apartment is small, I couldn’t stop myself from decorating almost every surface I could.
Bottle brush trees are one of my favorite things to decorate for the holidays with. I love the assorted colors that the trees come in. They also make the perfect touch to any corner of a home. Most of my bottle brush trees I have collected over the years are from Target and I love them! I have them in varying colors from mint to pink and white to bronze. They are also a really fun DIY project to do if you have the time. I actually have a great tutorial for DIY Bottle Brush Trees if you’re looking for one.
I DREAM of the day that I have a fireplace with the cutest little mantle. You best believe that I will be making sure that future mantel of mine is big enough to not only hold stockings but to hold garland and other decor as well. Until that dream day comes where I have a mantel, it’s all about finding creative places to hang our stockings. This years creative place is the bar cart and I actually think they look pretty cute tied up with ribbon. This picture is missing Lily’s stocking because I couldn’t find it, but rest assured, it has been found #crazydoglady.
The colors of the ornaments were pulled out of the various colors in the rug that’s in the living room. If you have no idea what rug I’m talking about, you can see what I’m babbling about in my living room home tour. The rug is filled with pinks, mints, blues, and so many other colors, but those three are my favorite colors. How cute are these Williams-Sonoma Ceramic Ornaments?! I love how they look like so many of my ginger jars!
I realized that I haven’t actually revealed my ‘dining room’ room with you all on the blog! This wall paper and ‘dining room’ are so fabulous that I think they deserve a proper reveal. Stay tuned for that here on the blog in January! For now, this holiday home tour serves as the perfect sneak peak at the ‘dining room.’
I hope you all enjoyed my holiday home tour because I certainly enjoyed welcoming you all into my home! I’ve done my best to link what items I could above. A lot of items are HomeGoods finds or items that I’ve had for a few years. If you have any specific questions on items that aren’t linked, feel free to reach out because I’d love to help!
