A Married Adventure
January 29, 2017

Happy Monday, Friends! Anyone else feel like the weekend flew by?? That California sunshine finally made an appearance this weekend and it was glorious after a two week hiatus. This girl really needed some Vitamin-D in her life and on her pale skin. Any who, last week I shared my “home office” inspiration in this post here . I put “home office” in quotes because it’s really just a corner in the living room. Nonetheless, I’m just tickled to share my home office tour with you all.

Since the office is in the living room I really wanted to make sure that the colors flowed well with the rest of the room. We have a gray sofa and emerald loveseat, and lots of pinks and greens in our turkish rug. If you haven’t seen my loveseat (I’m basically obsessed with it)  you can see it in this post here.

The shelves help give the corner some depth and dimension which I think helps make it feel a tad larger than it is.

Did you notice the lamp change in this picture?!? This one is new but I can’t decide if I like it better than the first. What do you guys think?

These chairs from World Market are one of my favorite purchases.  They are actually on sale right now so you should totally snag yourself a pair if you love them too.Home Office Tour: AMarriedAdventure.com

A view of the campaign desk without the chair blocking it. I LOVE campaign style furniture and really wanted a desk that had the drawers on the side. I opted for this one because it didn’t feel as bulky as a traditional campaign desk. Through this design process, I’ve learned that it’s SO important to use appropriate sized furniture for the space you’re working with. A big bulky desk would have made this corner feel cramped.

Can I tell you all something that I’ve really been loving lately? I love when my favorite bloggers “keep it real.” It’s so refreshing to see that life isn’t always those perfect little Instagram squares. So with that said, here is what my office looked like minutes before I cleaned it up to shoot.  It tends to look like this on the days that it’s not being used for school or work.

I literally pulled all this law school stuff out and tossed it on the ground behind me to make room for prettier decor. So there you have it, my “keeping it real moment.” I actually think this is something I’d like to add to all my posts because seriously, life isn’t always those perfect little squares. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE stumbling upon an Instagram that makes me drool over how pretty it is, I just think it’s also important to show the other side of it sometimes.

Love it! Love the large art print as opposed to a gallery of smaller items. Definitely helps make the office look less cluttered. I vote for the task lamp as it’s more functional and I like the height!

I decided to keep the task lamp, the height is so much better! And the light, way more light than the shorter one! You’re totally right, much less clutter with the one picture instead of a gallery wall!
