Let’s start this post off by talking about where in the world have I been? I wish I had a super cool and exciting answer for you, but, I don’t. My work weeks and my weekends have been jam packed since we got back from Austin. It’s definitely put a damper on being able to share fun and pretty content on my little space of the world wide web, but that’s life. However, I have managed to carve out a little time here and there to work on a few posts and am now beyond excited to start sharing them with all of you.
So without further ado….I’m calling all my fellow JEWELRY LOVERS, because this post is for you! There is also a special treat at the end of the post for you that I’m super excited to share, so make sure you scroll to the bottom!
I don’t think I’m alone when I say that accessories can really make or break an outfit. Am I right, or am I right? I love anything from a fab chunky necklace to a Kendra Scott Rayne Necklace. You name the jewelry and I pretty much love it.
After being a Rocksbox member long before the A Married Adventure days; I am so excited to announce that I have partnered with them to share with you all what a wonderful gem it really is. Rocksbox is every jewelry lovers perfect subscription. They partner with amazing designers, like Kendra Scott and Kate Spade (two of my absolute FAVS). My favorite part is that you get to try the jewelry before you buy it, genius! How many times have you bought an accessory, but then find you never actually wear it as much as you thought you would? I know I do this all the time, especially with jewelry. These are just some of the reasons that made signing up a “no-brainer” for me.
Look at those Kendra Scott and Kate Spade earrings. I can’t stop swooning over them! I think I will definitely be purchasing these from my June set. I’ve already worn them both most days of the week since receiving them in the mail.
Another plus about Rocksbox is that if you decide to purchase the jewelry in your set, your monthly subscription fee goes back into your purchase. Y’all, this really is is win-win. Once you are done with your set, go ahead and send it back for a new one. You can do this UNLIMITED times per month. As long as you keep your wish list up to date your stylist is sure to curate a set that you will love each and every time.
I have AMAZING news for all my readers….if you LOVE jewelry like I do, then you’re in for a special treat. All of A Married Adventure readers will receive their first month of Rocksbox subscription for FREE by using the code “amarriedadventurexoxo”
I hope you all give it a try and love it as much as I do!
This post was created in partnership with Rocksbox as all of these pretty little gems were complimentary. However, all opinions are my own! I will never share or promote products that I do not truly love on AMarriedAdventure.com.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I must say, I feel pretty accomplished for making it through a 6-day work week last week. I mean, I just got back from vacation and had to work 60+ hours. That is some major #adulting right there if I do say so myself! I also managed to work out 3 days (this is huge for me). And if you saw on Insta Stories, I also decided to start a new project (my urban balcony garden).
Memorial Day weekend officially/unofficially kicked off the start of the summer just two short weekends ago. Summer vacations are and always will be my favorite. However, I’ve found since being in the “real-world” aka working a full time job post college that it’s hard as hell to get back into a groove after a trip. That post-vacation struggle is REAL!
I’ve finally found a few tricks that work for me in beating the post-vacation struggle. I really made sure to put them to use after this last trip to Austin and they really WORK! If you’re anything like I used to be, it takes you a whole work week to get back into your normal routine. You’re really just surviving and not thriving, and to me, that’s the worst feeling. And besides, ain’t nobody got time for that!
These tips should help you get back into your groove and BEAT the post-vacation struggle that we all get.
No. 1: Leave yourself a day in between getting back from vacation and going back to work. I’ve done it far too many times where I get back from a week long vacation on a Sunday night and have to be to work the next morning. I find that to be way too stressful and sets me up for failure the entire week.
No. 2: Change your linens and towels before leaving. Is there anything better than a freshly made bed?! I don’t think so! Just think of how wonderful it will feel to come home and crawl into your own bed that’s so fresh and so clean-clean. I also swap out my towels and fold them nicely so that it almost feels like a hotel bathroom when you get home.

No. 3: Clean your home and do laundry before leaving! There is nothing worse than coming home to a messy house and a bunch of dirty laundry. Who really wants to come home to chores that need to be done?! I know I don’t.
No. 4: Meal plan and pre-order groceries for when you arrive home. You guys…I just did this one on my last trip and it was LIFE CHANGING. I pre-ordered all my groceries for the week to arrive in the early afternoon on Sunday (I got home late Saturday night). This allowed me to meal prep and get everything situated for the upcoming week. It truly made the biggest difference to getting back on track for the week. BONUS: I didn’t have to go to the grocery store myself. #winning
No. 5: Treat yourself one last time (or two). You know that day you left inbetween getting home and going back to work? Get yourself a mani/pedi. How nice is it to go back to work freshly manicured?? I feel like a new person whenever I get my nails done.
No. 6: Schedule a happy-hour (or two) for during the week. One of my favorite parts of vacations is really enjoying happy-hours. Scheduling one or two into your week post-vacation will make transitioning back into real-life more enjoyable if you have something to look forward to.
No. 7: While you certainly can’t sip mai tais during the work day you can sip on infused water or La Croix. Or better yet, infused La Croix.
No. 8: Pamper yourself with a face mask or bubble bath to help keep that vacay relaxation feeling going. Bonus points if there’s wine involved.
I hope you all find these tips useful as you take your own summer trips! Remember, you can apply these tips to a weekend getaway or a week long + vacation!
Cheers to a productive week ahead, Friends!
Last week I celebrated my 29th birthday. It’s the last birthday of my twenties and it’s sort of blowing my mind. Mostly because I feel like I just graduated college last year and have barely started to master this whole adulting business. The reality is, I actually graduated 7 years ago and my master adulting skills are really just that I do laundry once I get to my last pair of underwear, not when I’m completely out. **Slaps hand to forehead**
I remember when I was 22 and so over being in college and imagining what my life would look like in the next 5-10 years. SPOILER ALERT—my life looks a little different than that vision of mine that I had while cramming for finals with a view of the Pacific Ocean in beautiful Santa Barbara. You know what though? It’s okay that my vision is turning out differently because I feel like I’m exactly where I should be and I love my life and the season that it’s in.
In celebration of my last 20-something birthday, I thought I would share with you all what I’ve learned in my twenties!
Always trust your gut, it will never fail you
Wear sunscreen daily, dark spots are REAL
Suck it up and wash your face before bed, your skin will thank you
Everyone’s life unfolds at different paces, enjoy your pace
March to the beat of your own drum
Comparison is the thief of joy
People only show you what they want you to see
It’s okay to be picky
You WILL get drunk from drinking wine in a can
Coconut water works hydration wonders after drinking too many cans of wine
Find a good dry shampoo that works for your hair
Be grateful, always
Enjoy the season of life you’re in, you’ll never get it back
Do you girl, do you
Always choose quality over quantity
Invest in experiences
Mistakes will happen, it’s important to learn from them
Life is too short to do things that don’t make you happy
Small things can lead to big changes
Hard work and hustle will pay off, even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment
Simple is always better
Meal prepping will make a huge difference in your week, so will having your laundry done
There are so many things I’ve learned in the last 9 years and can only imagine what I’m going to learn from now until my 30th birthday and beyond. If you think your adulting skills are sub-par, don’t worry, I feel like I’m just starting to get the hang of it myself!
Cheers to a wonderful week!
Happy Memorial Day, Everyone! Let’s not forget the real reason why we have this glorious three day weekend. We are the land of the free because of the BRAVE. Thank you to all of veterans and current armed forces who have fought and continue to fight for our every day freedoms!
Ryan and I are headed off to Austin, Texas tomorrow and I’m pretty excited about it. I’ve been to other parts of the great Lone Star State before but never Austin. I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about the city so I’m looking forward to it. I’m also looking forward to going to Waco to live out all my “Fixer Upper” dreams. Where are all my Chip and Jo fans at?
I love knowing what other people pack when they visit a new place so I thought it would be fun to share what I’m packing with y’all. I swear I’m probably going to drive Ryan batty with the amount of times I’m going to say “y’all” this week while we’re in Texas. It will probably start with this post, sorry, I’m not sorry, babe!
Obviously I’m going to need to refresh my Chip and Jo knowledge by re-reading their book on the airplane along with catching up on the latest copy of Magnolia Journal. I must be honest, my cowboy boots are in the pictures but they aren’t coming with me. It’s way too hot for me to have my feet shoved in a sweaty leather boot. Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll stick to my cute new Steve Madden Sandals that I talked about in this post here. I love myself a good tote bag and this “Hey, Y’all” one seemed perfect for Texas.
Embarrassing side note….I totally just realized from this tote that I’ve been spelling “y’all” wrong every time I’ve typed it out. E M B A R R A S S I N G ! !
This little straw clutch with pom poms is so fun and seems like it will fit in well with Austins electric vibe. I pretty much wear some form of Kendra Scott jewelry everyday BUT, I definitely had to make sure I broke out the turquoise KS for Austin. After all, that is where Kendra got her big break, a trip to the OG store is a must.
I recently just got some super cute off the shoulder tops from Old Navy and ripped up denim shorts that I’ve been dying to wear. Heat and humidity sound like the perfect time to break them out.

If y’all have been to Austin I’d love to hear your recommendations on where to go, what to see, drink, and eat. Send em’ my way!
Remember in this post when I promised to keep you guys updated whenever I found something fabulous?! Well, today at the Nordstrom Rack I stumbled upon a very fabulous yet casual pair of sandals for only $50.00. I have been coveting these similar sandals that are double the price and they aren’t even that cute on my feet.
These Steve Madden sandals are much more dainty for my narrow feet and don’t over power my feet. The best part??? They come in FIVE different colors and you can buy them online at Nordstrom Rack. I seriously want all the colors! I planned to only keep either the nude OR black, but now I’m thinking about keeping both.
So if you love these as much as I do you better get them before they sell out!!
